“Grow your own Patch” at the Bridport Food Festival

Posted on May 28, 2015

With enormous thanks to Charlie at Groves Nurseries and Simon at Washingpool Farm, FoodFuture Bridport will be hosting a new addition at this year’s Bridport Food Festival on Saturday 13 June. The Grow Your Own Patch is an outdoor area where you can try your hand at planting (and taking seeded pots home), buy a delicious range of food plants and seeds, receive advice from local experts, growers and allotmenteers and find out how simple, money-saving, fun and rewarding it is to grow your own food. What could be better than having a supply of fresh salad, herbs and veg on hand? No need for a big garden or an allotment – a balcony or pots on the windowsill will do. You can grow food anywhere there’s a bit of space and some sunlight.

Be sure to bring your kids along to get their hands dirty and enjoy the fun of planting and growing their own salad, veggies and herbs. We’re hoping to persuade everyone to give growing their own a try. We look forward to seeing you there!
